An Evening In London Bridge: Exploring London

I love going out in London so the idea of an evening out exploring London Bridge sounded like brilliant fun! It has been a long time since I ventured to this particular area of London, so we decided to keep it simple with dinner and drinks, as well as taking a wander on foot. There are plenty of hotels in London Bridge but on this occasion we needed to return home due to a very early start. Starting our evening on one side of London Bridge, we strolled across to the otherside taking in the views over the Thames along the way. There are a couple of very cool tourist attractions nearby; namely HMS Belfast and London Dungeon. However, with rumbling stomachs we headed on a mission to find food. We quite fancied some comedy so we did a quick Google search and discovered a place that was perfect for us; The Miller. This pub holds comedy sessions upstairs, and also has a great selection of vegan and vegetarian burgers too. The decor is very quirky and it has an eclectic range of seating. There is also plenty of space outside as well. We were really impressed with the amount …

We were really impressed with the amount of choice on the menu and the food was exceptional. It was also reasonably priced too. We already plan to return soon!

After our meal, we also enjoyed a couple of cocktails here. We liked the fact there was a vegan version of the milk based cocktails; this made us happy! I was also pleased to see there were paper straws too. After we polished off our drinks we headed on our way.

We walked back up along the water edge to return to London Bridge itself. This was a really nice route, and we paused for a while to watch a live band play in the open air next to a little outside bar. We didn’t catch the name of them unfortunately but we did enjoy it.

We considered going to The Shard, as it felt abit wrong not to visit such a major feature of the area, but we decided to return to this another day. We also spotted a place called The Underdog – art music bar – that was shut at the time but I am very keen to check it out another day too.

So with a list of future ideas in mind, we went back across the bridge and found ourselves at a trendy looking cocktail bar called Be At One.

We discovered they offer an ‘appy hour’ which is two cocktails for £12 if you download their app and get a code from the bar staff. They had a nice range of cocktails, good music and a fun atmosphere. We would definitely go again!

After this, we reluctantly decided to call it a night. (Although I was hesitant to drag myself away, despite the early start!) We headed home, slightly worse for wear and very tired, but feeling like we had a really fun night out! We enjoyed the Thames views, had a lovely wander around exploring the area on foot, discovered a couple of cool new places for food and drink, ate delicious food and sampled a few tasty cocktails; our idea of a wonderful evening! We look forward to returning to London Bridge for round two soon!

  1. Wow! I just learned about what happened on the London bridge recently. Apparently there was a Terror attack there just the other day. I can’t believe it, I just got back from there! This world is just getting more and more scary…
