Last week we went on a short break to Wild Duck Haven Holiday Park near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. We have been to a couple of other Haven sites before but this particular one was new to us. I was very pleasantly surprised by it; I found the entire park rather more ‘toned down’ than some of the others I have previously been to and the natural woodland surroundings were beautiful. It was a peaceful environment to be in, whilst still having various facilities on the doorstep (along with the ducks, rabbits and squirrels all around us!) We very much enjoyed our stay and I would happily return to this site. See the Wild Duck Haven Holidays website for further details.
Inside the caravan there was central heating throughout, which was particularly handy for a cold wet October! The caravan was clean and cosy.
The ‘centre’ of the site has an entertainment complex, restaurant, fish and chip shop, Spar shop and swimming pool. The pool was smaller and more basic than some, but was more than sufficient. The entertainment complex was nice; the venue for the actual entertainment was a good size and sensible layout.
There is a lovely natural playground in the middle of the woodland…
There were also other playgrounds too (although the one pictured below wasn’t very clean sadly)
There was also a sandpit/ play area…
One of the little highlights (and abit of a hidden gem!) is a huge wooden tree house that was hidden away in the middle of a pretty woodland walk.
Squiggle also enjoyed having a ‘tea time party’ with Rory the Tiger, including party games such as pass the parcel, musical statues and musical bumps.
Last but not not least she loved joining in the disco and meeting the Haven ‘Seaside Squad’ characters.
Lots of fun to be had at Wild Duck holiday park!
