EcoHonesty: A New Ethical Marketplace

*EcoHonesty will kindly be sending me some gifts in exchange for spreading the word about their new ethical marketplace. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.* EcoHonesty is a brand new site that describes itself as an ethical marketplace; it is essentially a shopping platform for eco-friendly ethical products. It hosts a selection of lovely brands that it has partnered with, all working within the same clear goals. This is their promise (quoted from EcoHonesty website)… “We only accept businesses to sell on our website that are passionate about: Having a clear purpose to make positive environmental change. No greenwashing. That’s the eco part of our name. Striving to create excellent products of the very highest quality. Being as fair as possible to their customers in terms of price (no ‘greenflation’). If we aren’t comfortable they do that, then we’re not the right fit for each other. That’s the honesty bit.” They are also transparent about how they work with businesses too; they do not charge a flat fee to feature on the site but instead charge 10% commission on each sale. They are also transparent about how they work with businesses too; they do not charge a flat fee to feature on the site but instead charge 10% commission on each sale. They keep 7% then give 3% of that to their chosen charities. This seems like a fair system and I like the fact that a percentage of each sale goes to charity too.

Chosen Charities

They have chosen three charities to support; Surfers Against Sewage, Re-engage and The Aspinall Foundation. I am familiar with S.A.S; a fab UK charity who works hard to protect our seas and tackle ocean pollution.

The other two I was less familiar with and was pleased to learn more about their work via the platform; Re-engage is the only UK charity whose sole focus is addressing social isolation and loneliness amongst our older generation.

And then there is The Aspinall Foundation, who believe reintroducing animals back into their natural habitats helps to conserve both the species and their environment; they work hard to address the threat of extinction of our wildlife.

Three great charities!

The Brands

There are a variety of brands and products already listed on the marketplace. From bamboo bedding to organic brownie boxes, natural handwash and handmade soaps, from floor cleaner to jewellery, and lots more inbetween! There are plenty of lovely skincare and beauty products too, as well as the Georganics mouthcare range.
