Beauty Gifts

Beauty items are often a popular gift idea. However, many are not so good for the planet. But there are some lovely eco-friendly brands to choose from! Here are a few great choices…

Bamboo Reusable Makeup Remover Pads

EcoPanda have two sets of reusable bamboo makeup remover pads to choose from. The first set comes with the pads, laundry bag and a cute little bamboo storage tub to keep them in. I was kindly sent this item to review and include in this guide. Whilst I don’t wear makeup often myself personally and try to remove it with just water when I do, mascara and heavier make up can be tough to remove without pads and cleanser (or worse, wipes!) so these reusable ones will come in handy!

Eco Panda reusable make up pads

The second set includes pads, laundry bag and face cloth. EcoPanda have offered a lucky reader the chance to win one of these lovely little sets!

Net Zero Co

Net Zero Co are a truly environmentally-conscious brand with a brilliant selection of products. They ship entirely plastic free; all of their packaging is 100% recyclable and home compostable, and sealed with paper tape. They also plant a tree with every order. Amongst the bathroom/ beauty items available in their online store is an awesome bamboo hairbrush with bamboo ball tipped bristles. Bamboo has natural antibacterial properties so helps keep your hair and scalp healthy too!

Bamboo hairbrush

They also have fab stocking fillers like a bamboo toothbrush set with charcoal infused bristles. This set of 4 has a unique wave design on each handle so you don’t get mixed up. I love this idea; simple but effective!

Food Storage

Net Zero Co also have an excellent range of food storage and reusable cutlery too. For example, this 1200ml steel bento box with removable divider is airtight and leakproof so is great for picnics, long journeys or school/ work lunches. The handy divider can be removed if a larger space is needed. This munchie box also comes in different sizes and Net Zero Co sell some handy little pots that fit nicely into them too!

Annual Memberships

Annual memberships to a place of interest are a nice choice of gift. For example, a local well- loved attraction, or a National Trust membership. Another option is an annual membership to environmentally- conscious charities. Here are a couple of my favourites, but there are many more of course…

The Wildlife Trusts

The Wildlife Trusts do fantastic work, and annual membership is a lovely gift for eco-friendly nature lovers.

Wildlife Matters magazine and Go Wild leaflet by The Wildlife Trusts

Surfers Against Sewage

SAS works tirelessly to campaign for cleaner environments and supports the development of sustainable communities. Membership to this charity makes a great gift!

Salad Kits

The Crop Club

These ‘grow your own’ kits are perfect for even small spaces and do their bit for the environment and sustainability. They include; 6 varieties of seeds, compostable cardboard and PLA pots, peat free compost discs, palm leaf trays for your pots, wooden spoon plant markers, bottletop waterer (80% recycled plastic, made in the UK) and coffee sack planter bags.

  6. i love all of your ideas in this post. We are finding that we are definitely becoming more aware of the things we can do – for example we tried to avoid too much “consumption” over christmas – both in terms of gifts, food etc and also eco-friendly ways of wrapping etc. These products in the giveaway sound really good.
